Paris, 24 May 2017 – For the grand finals of the 2017 Music Battle Inter-Collèges, Michael D. James was once again part of the professional five-member jury selecting the winning performances based on voice quality, technical ability, musical presentation and artistic presence. The winners were awarded prizes:
• publishing their videos on the websites of mbic and its partners
• recording of a single in a professional studio
• professional filming of a video clip

Cheating on me – new video clip

Cheating on me
 For his new single, Cheating on me, Michael D. James released yesterday on his YouTube channel a new clip directed by JB Loubère. Being cheated on is one of the worst feelings anyone can feel. JB came up with the scenario that reflects this in a literal sense. However, it is a metaphor for all kinds of cheating, emotional cheating can be truly devastating. The song deals with getting to grips with such feelings and confronting the cheater, not even accepting lame excuses “papa papadapa…”!

Photo Shoot – Backstage Snapshots

When Les Zinc, the graphic designers currently reworking my visual identity, suggested that we organise a photo shoot, I was rather apprehensive to say the least, as I never really considered myself that photogenic. However, the whole experience proved to be an extremely pleasant one.

Upon arrival at the studio, I was entrusted to the expert hands of Jessica Jean-François, hair and make-up artist, who by the way works wonders; while photographer, Coline Gascon and her assistant Clara Viallard organised lighting and the set’s backdrop.  Under the watchful eyes of Les Zinc artistic directors, Basile Baudet and Vincent Hennebert, shooting got underway. Despite initial nervousness, I was immediately made to feel at ease, as everybody contributed to creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I would particularly like to extend my gratitude and thanks to all the team for their professionalism, kindness and talent.

I’m looking forward to sharing the results with you later this month, but beforehand enjoy these few behind-the-scene snapshots.

 Paris, 29 May 2014 — Michael D. James is pleased to announce he will be participating in this year’s gala concert evening organised by the Association Sylvain, Synergie pour La Vie Améliorée des Invalides Neurologiques. This evening will enable the Association to raise funds to help individuals suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease. Michael D. James will be performing a selection of songs from his repertory.
